1 - Direct PCB Conversion - Opening the D78
Opening the D78 printer is quite easy. First, remove the two screws at the
rear.

Then, starting at the back of the printer, working round clockwise, release
the 6 clips. The first one is easy - Just press it in and lever the case up
slightly.

The second clip is also easy. Press a flat bladed screwdriver up slightly
into the slot, while providing some upward force on the case.

The next clip gets slightly trickier. This is the internal view of the right
hand version looking down through the case.

Epson has made this rather difficult with these clips. Your aim here is to
press outward on the bottom plastic, while pressing inward on the top plastic,
at the point of the clip. Once you've applied enough force, it should
just pop out!

In the center of the paper tray at the front, you need to press in on the
bottom plastic, while lifting the top plastic.

The following two clips are repeats of ones you have seen before. However,
this time you can get access to the clip itsself by moving the print
cartridge to the center of it's carriage.

Move the print head back to the park position.
Back at the other side, this is the last clip you need to undo.

Now, the body shell should just be able to slide off the printer vertically.
