10 - Carrier
The purpose of the carrier is to hold and feed the PCB through the
printer in addition to activating the paper feed switch replacement.
The Epson D78 is quite easy in terms of the carrier - It only requires a
momentary clear section for the paper feed switch, followed by the opaque
"sheet of paper" emulation that the head will use to sense printable width.
This section still needs more work, but the basic carrier I used is a sheet
of acrylic, sanded and painted with primer.
A small window is left at one corner to form the paper feed switch
replacement.
The PCB to be printed is taped with double sided tape round the edges.
The carrier + PCB is then fed through the printer.
